Paths Crossing is a fun party game packed with conversation starters, travel trivia and reflection prompts that inspire responsible and sustainable travel decisions and foster meaningful connections.
Paths Crossing is the only travel card game available on the market specially created for the sustainable travel community - besides centering our content on sustainability, we also support fair trade, use sustainable packaging, and donate a portion of our profit to social good initiatives.
For every purchase of the game, Paths Crossing will donate at least 10% of our profit to FLYTE, Foundation for Learning and Youth Travel Education, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that empowers youth from underserved communities through transformative travel experiences.
Paths Crossing Travel Card Game
How do we play this game?
This game contains 200+ cards divided into four main categories:
1. Travel Habits & Preferences
2. Travel Experiences & Encounters
3. Travel Ethics & Sustainability
4. Countries & Cultures
Categories 1 and 2 are primarily conversation starters to help players share their travel stories. Category 3 includes reflective questions that will get you thinking more deeply about how we impact the places we visit. Category 4 includes intriguing travel facts and trivia that are fun for everybody!
Additionally, there are 20 'Action Cards', which can be shuffled in at any point during the game to inject more fun into the experience.
What are the QR Codes on the cards for and how do we use them?
The QR codes are links to suggested answers for game questions and in some cases references for the topics in question if you wish to learn more. The QR codes used in this game are dynamic, allowing for updated content and additional information to be included when necessary. To read the QR codes, download a free QR code reader app onto your phone.
Is the name of the country / travel destination at the bottom of each card the answer to the question on the card?
No. The name of the country/travel destination found at the bottom of each card is not the answer to the question above it. Think about it – why would we give away the answer on the same card? :) The 200 countries/travel destinations are irrelevant to the questions – they are just there in case you want to take a break from having conversations about your travels. Ask a question like "What is the capital of ________?" Each player takes a turn picking a card from the deck. If the player gives the answer correctly, she or he gets one point. Grown-ups can also play it as a drinking game.
The following are some suggested questions you could ask:
"What are the colours of the national flag of ________?"
"Name a river found in ________."
"Name a famous dish from ________."
"Do you need a visa to visit ________?"
"What language(s) do we speak in ________?"
"Name a landmark in ________."
"What is the currency used in ________?"
There are unlimited ways to play the game with the addition of these destination names. Be creative and keep the drinks coming!

What if I get bored with Paths Crossing after playing it many times?
Don't worry! We’ll constantly be updating our website to keep our content fresh. Once you’ve purchased this card game and become a member of our community, you’ll enjoy access to all our future additions, including new questions, trivia and conversation starters, downloadable on our website! We also plan to introduce thematic booster packs in the future!
Is Paths Crossing appropriate for minors?
Paths Crossing was primarily designed for travel enthusiasts with a fair amount of travel experience. The more you've travelled, the more you'll find the game fun and relatable. That said, teachers and educators are welcome to use parts of the game in the classroom. We think it would serve as a great tool for opening up discussions among children and teenagers on travel ethics, sustainability and for teaching facts about foreign countries and cultures.
Does this game ship internationally?
Unfortunately at this time, we only ship to locations in the continental US. The price of shipping is included in the cost of the game.
Does the game exist in other languages?
For now, the game is only available in English. But we are open to the idea of developing versions in other languages, e.g. French and Chinese. Customer and community feedback about this is encouraged! Please tell us what you think!
How will the donations be used?
10% of our proceeds will be donated to non-profits that empower (1) refugees forced to travel hundreds of miles to seek asylum, and (2) underprivileged youth who lack the means to travel. A portion of the profits will also benefit efforts to promote sustainable travel practices through education. The nonprofits we support include Love Without Borders – For Refugees in Need (LWB), the Foundation for Learning and Youth Travel Education (FLYTE), and Mini Acts for the Greater Good (MAGG). We will publish an annual report each June detailing the impact our donations have made.

We want to thank EcoEnclose and Gallant for helping us achieve our vision for a nearly plastic-free product!
I'm really interested in getting a set of the game. Do you offer any discounts for individuals working in sustainable education or elsewhere in the nonprofit sector?
We do offer discounts to the members of several nonprofits as well as social ventures that promote sustainable tourism. Just shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire! If you belong to an organization on our list, we'd gladly offer a discount!
Can I place a bulk order for my institution / corporation and will I get a discount for that?
Yes absolutely! We welcome collaborations with nonprofits, social enterprises and corporations, as well as governmental and educational institutions. We believe that only through working together can we achieve systemic change towards a more sustainable world. Please send your enquiry to email@example.com and we'll take it from there!
What is your return policy?
We do not accept returns or issue refunds, however, if you have any issues with our products, please email us and we will address these on a case-by-case basis.
Why don't you accept returns?
This might be the most common question we receive at Paths Crossing. The answer? We factor the environment into every business decision we make – it’s a part of our core mission – and online retail returns take an incredible toll on the environment.
Retail returns account for some 5 billion pounds of landfill waste each year in the United States, especially around the holiday season. Trucks burn roughly 1.6 billion gallons of diesel fuel returning these goods, resulting in 15 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
We believe this culture of free returns enables careless and impulsive shopping, leading to an astronomical excess of pollution and waste.
So please, learn to shop smarter online. Avoid impulse buys. Research purchases before making them. We value our customers tremendously and that means working together to reduce carbon footprints and pollution so successive generations may enjoy the planet as we do.
So who made this game?
While the creator and owner of Paths Crossing conceptualised the whole game and oversaw the entire production process, this project wouldn't have been possible without the collective effort of the following amazing people: Kelvin Lam, Valeria Lordan, Eliza Raymond, Renae Lindsay, Wilder Fleming, Anni Caylor, Jessie Festa, and everyone else who provided invaluable help at different stages of the project, from naming the game to proofreading and modeling for our product photos. Thank you!!!
I can't find my question here!
